Android Enterprise Recommended Rugged Mobile Computers

Mobility Edge devices are validated through the Google-led Android Enterprise Recommended program. Honeywell rugged mobile computers meet the technical specifications and extended lifecycle support requirements that business customers have come to expect.

Honeywell know how to build rugged devices to withstand the rigours of everyday use.

Above all Mobility Edge devices will stay up-to-date for many years with security guaranteed by Google and Honeywell, a leading supplier of industrial security systems in its own right.

Extended Lifecycle

A new Honeywell device purchased in 2019 will give at least 6 years of useful life, through 2025.

1. Security support through Andoid R

Honeywell worked closely with Google on their Android mobile OS,and Qualcomm® on their mobile device chipset. The result is a guarantee of compatibility and support for Mobility Edge all the way through Android R. This is the longest mobile device lifecycle in the industry.

2. Android security updates through 2025

Once Google has reached the end of its support for Android R and stops issuing security patches, Honeywell will extend support by providing critical security patches for an additional two years via Honeywell's Sentinel™ service through 2025. Honeywell is the only solution provider to guarantee such long-lasting support.

3. Next-Gen SOM (System on Modules)

The modular architecture of the Mobility Edge platform facilitates future development of a new family of models incorporating a next-generation SOM architecture. Compatibility with existing peripherals will allow customers to reduce upgrade cost and minimise user training on their new systems.

Honeywell security

1. Mobility Edge Security patches every 30-90 days

Honeywell designs security into products, policies, and processes. The best way to secure a device is to use thelatest operating system and security patches. Honeywell issues Mobility Edge security patches every 30-90 days.

2. Honeywell professional security

Honeywell has a deep institutional and cultural focus on security across multiple domains. We invest over $50 million annually in cybersecurity and employ 300+ dedicated security professionals who are focused on protecting businesses using Honeywell control systems.

Honeywell's design-to-delivery process has a strong emphasis on programming security into products to anticipate and mitigate risk. Continuous testing, authentication safeguards and adherence to best programming practices minimise vulnerabilities to attacks. This isn’t anything new for Honeywell.

3.Honeywell Managed Security Services

Honeywell is the provider of managed security services for over 350 industrial sites. To lead the way Honeywell put in place the industry’s first Cybersecurity Risk Manager and has strategic partnerships with leading cybersecurity product vendors.
