BellHawk Online IIOT Interface Box
LABELBox
On demand label printing across the plant

One LABELBox will drive many labellers at a facility. Users trigger printing in real time so there are no delays and no labelling errors.

On-demand Label Printing

A LABELBox enables you to print labels using current transaction data from BellHawk Online running in the Cloud or your own remote data center. It will drive many printers at your facility.

Note: LABELBox is a short name for BellHawk Online Label Printing Appliance (BLPA). It runs Microsoft server software for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Label printing

Process

Request A user issues a label printing requests from a transaction screen, typically while capturing data with a mobile computer for a material movement.

Process BellHawk Online processes the request then sends it to the BellHawk TAG software, running on the same server.

Queue TAG chooses the appropriate label and printer, retrieves the label parameters from its database, and then places the request into the label printing queue.

Monitor The LABEL PRINT software in the LABELBox monitors this queue for new entries over the Internet using BellHawk's web-services (SOAP/XML messaging) interface.

Retrieve When LABEL PRINT sees a new print request for one of the printers connected to its LABELBox, it retrieves the request from the print queue.

Automate LABEL PRINT calls AUTOMATION (BarTender or NiceLabel, whichever is running in the LABELBOX).

Print AUTOMATION prints the label on the designated printer.

Installation

Internet Connection

All LABELBox requires is a regular external Internet connection. It does not require any special IT configuration work.

The big advantage of the LABELBox is that it can use an Internet "Guest" account to communicate with the BellHawk server. This Guest account can be the same wireless link as is used by the mobile data collection devices used to communicate with the BellHawk Online server.

Printer Connection

LABELBox can communicate with multiple networked barcode printers connected to its LAN port by a network router/switch. In addition one or more printers can be connected to its USB port through a USB hub.

These printers are on their own dedicated network. This avoids any issues with network security arising from their use over a shared LAN.

Labelling Software

LABELBox comes with a complete version of the Seagull Scientific BarTender® (or NiceLabel) label creation software. You can edit and create label layouts with LABELBox when a monitor, keyboard and mouse are plugged in.

Multiple Sites

BellHawk architecture supports the use of LABELBox units in multiple geographically separated facilities, each with their own set of attached printers.
