Prepared vegetables
How a prepared vegetables supplier applies top and bottom labels in high care
Top and Bottom
The company supplies prepared vegetables to the catering trade. Packs of sliced tomatoes, cucumbers and other varieties need top and bottom labels.
Preparation is in a high care area where equipment including the labellers has to be washed down. The company has a print room to pre-pint the labels for each batch.
The Codeway system
- A split conveyor with a gap for the bottom label,
- Two Novexx ALS applicators rated to IP65,
- Control unit.
Conveyor
This autolooping video shows the top applicator applying labels to packs. At the same time the bottom applicator is applying labels to the underside of the packs. The line will run at 24 metres per minute processing 6000 or more packs per hour.
Top and bottom label applicators
The bottom applictaor is the same as the top one. The label feeds up through the gap in the split conveyor.
Control unit
Results
The company has installed three units over four years in line with growth in sales.
