IBM Emulation
Why a famous brand relies on Codeway for help with warehouse terminal selection, setup and support

Distribution centres need someone to take ownership of any problems with mobile terminals and scanners for their IT systems
Warehouse mobility
In 2002 a fashion retailer asked us to install mobile terminls at its UK distribution centres. They had an IBM AS400 system and wanted to get rid of paperwork. No wireless network existed.
Codeway recommended the best network, the best terminal emulation software, and a shortlist of terminals. The customer asked the staff which unit they preferred and made a choice.

Picking for a store order using the original terminal chosen by users and the company for ergonomics and cost effectiveness
Original installation
Codeway installed the network, configured the terminal emulation, and deployed the terminals.
System operation
As the customer's IT systems evolved Codeway helped to troubleshoot various interface and network issues. The company extended its use of mobile terminals to other sites in the UK and overseas.
Upgrade
In 2017 the company upgraded its terminals at its main distribution centres to the current model. It redeployed the existing units elsewhere in the group.
Results
The terminals are an essential part of the company's operation. They have paid for themselves many times over, each terminal picking over £10 million of goods during their lifetime.
